These southern-rocking outlaws released one of the stand-out albums of 2007 whilst on Toby Keith’s Show Dog label. Three years later and now on the independent label Next Evolution Records they have finally brought out their sophomore CD.
With Brian and Brent Flynn and Tommy Bales still ever-present and with Damon Michael coming in on bass guitar they are carrying on with the tried and tested formula of their debut, in other words songs that will rock your socks off, with just the odd ballad to balance things up.
Friend Of Sinners is a mighty good brooding rocker with blazing guitar behind some emotionally raw and gritty vocals and pounding drums, this should get your adrenaline pumping. The One You Love is a touching ballad that deserves to be heard on American radio with great vocals and gorgeous lyrics.
Tip A Can is a real catchy number that will make a great live tune as well as a popular one with the dancers, then you of course have the rockers such as the lively opener Home.

For the 25th Time was this year held in the Country Night Gstaad. The program could be quite impressive. Many well-known artists gave the honor and kissed the visiting fans from all over the world with varied musical performances.
The evening opened the formation Flynnville Train . The group consists of brothers Brian and Brent Flynn on vocals and guitar, amplified by Joseph Shreve on bass and Tommy Bales on drums.The band, which has occurred already in the opening act for Toby Keith, offered rocking country music at its finest. The mostly self-penned songs are about life in the South. The group offers a very driving rhythm. Flynnville Train should then spend the evening in the tent after the end of the official part concert.

The anniversary of the first quarter century proved to be the bottom line as one of the best Country Nights Gstaad at all. As always, concert atmosphere in the tent was the Alpengala announced - eating, drinking, and was celebrated in the adjacent tennis court.
On both days, on time at 18.00 clock moderator Jürg Hofer started the evening with the Southern rock bandFlynnville Train from Indiana. 2011, they had already played in front of 10,000 people in the French Craponne what they gave you the idea to strengthen contacts with Europe. Their program was pure energy, its origins date back 20 years. The actual founding of the band took place in 2001, when brothers Brian and Brent Flynn contributed their musical ideas in this band. At least here the listener had to be clear that the wild rockers play their music is not only a virtuoso, but also with heart and understanding of the roots. "Black Grass" was a brisk instrumental, which revealed the abilities of the three musicians in all facets.
The first single from the album "Your Last Good Time" has the message, live every day, it might be the last opportunity. 6) Country Night Gstaad 2013: An anniversary of superlatives

With the 25th Country Night Gstaad (on 20 and 21 September 2013), the organizers showed once again that the potential for surprises audience is far from exhausted. After all these years with famous names from Nashville, and part of Texas he offered the audience with the Time Jumpers, LeAnn Rimes, Gretchen Wilson and Flynnville Train again a night of superlatives. One of the first fans of Flynnville Train is none other than Toby Keith. He heard a demo CD, saw them live - and took it immediately for his label Show Dog under contract. Although for the quartet during cooperation only 22 Place in the U.S. charts (and No. 49 in the country charts) jumped out, it became clear that the band has potential.

Or a tailor in the whole 60's style "On Our Way" or the smooth still more backward-looking, good-humored old-school rock 'n' rollers of "Tip A Can" (single release). Above all, it is the tight-Country Southern rockers who occasionally season with a portion of Blues. Songs like "Preachin 'to The Choir" or "Scratch Me Where I'm Itchin'".
Like all heavy hitters, convince Flynnville Train in ballads compartment. "Friends of Sinners" goes to heart, and written by his friend, the Kentucky Headhunters, "The One You Love" comes straight to tears.
Conclusion : Fried eggs, solid, no-frills country southern rock with one or the other 60s and ballads trip. Succeeded!

3 - Flynnville Train heads full steam into Europe

Famous for their electrifying live performances and following three successful visits to Europe in the past two years, Rock’n Country band Flynnville Train have signed a licensing deal through AMP Entertainment in the USA, with AGR Television Records in Germany, to be distributed in multiple territories. Their album, “Back On Track” will be released on September 16th in time for their fourth European appearance at the most prestigious event in Europe, Country Night Gstaad in Switzerland, September 20th and 21st, 2013.
Flynnville Train was the highlight of the Craponne Festival, France in 2011, which was their first appearance in Europe. Nobody knew who this band was, but by the end of their show, the audience was going absolutely wild. The Mragowo Festival in Poland, 2012 brought the same result and at the French Riviera Festival in France, August 2013, the band were again a sensation. Instead of playing for 1 hour and 30 minutes, they performed for two hours, due to the many encores. There was a long line for autographs, but the band signed every one of them and then took photos with fans for another three hours! European audiences love them, not only for their original songs, but known rock and pop covers that make their audiences go crazy and still asking for more!

The band was formed by brothers Brian and Brent Flynn, and comprises Brian Flynn on lead vocals, Brent Flynn on lead guitar and harmony vocals (a natural blend unique to brothers), Tommy Bales on drums, now with the band for over thirteen years and voted Number one most up-and-coming drummer in Modern Drummer magazine in 2009 and Joseph Shreve on bass, who met the brothers through a mutual friend and whose influences are drawn from Rush and Lynyrd Skynyrd. They each bring something unique to the sound that comprises Flynnville Train.
The Flynn brothers, Brian and Brent, inherited their natural gift of music– Brian (lead vocals) is also an accomplished drummer. Review - Flynnville Train – "Redemption"

It’s always nice to write about hometown musicians that are from my great state, Indiana. When you think of musical artist from Indiana, you think of artists like John Mellencamp, Michael Jackson, and Axel Rose (Guns N’ Roses), but there are still many unsung artists from the state of Indiana and one of them is Flynnville Train. Since the release of their album, “Redemption”, (previously on Toby Keith’s Show Dog Records) Flynnville Train has been delivering their brand of God-fearing, working man, women loving, stick-to-your-ribs music to audiences with dirty guitar riffs, and vocals that brings country rock music a little closer to home.
It’s hard to distinguish as to which song off, “Redemption”, is the best because nearly all the songs take the listener on a nostalgic journey down the long dirt road of memories and country living, and the song, “Home”, does just that. It will remind the listener of fond memories from years past. More so, the band sites that this song is a reflection of their many influences from front porch bluegrass to hard hitting heavy rock while living in the country.
The song, “Preaching To The Choir”, takes a different turn on the album that conjures an almost patriotic tone. Throughout the song, the band expresses the concerns of American’s and how they feel about troubled times. Flynnville Train further capitalizes on the feelings felt by many American’s today with the chorus:
You’re preaching to the choir
A fellow working man
There’s a whole lot of stuff messed up
Can I get an amen
Cause we’re all getting tired
So go on, bitch and moan

Next, Flynnville Train takes a more lighter, honky-tonk vibe with the song, “Truck Stop In The Sky”. It is this song that caught the attention of country music star, “Toby Keith”, in which it gave the boys in Flynnville Train they break they were looking for. More so, singer Brian Flynn expresses how this song takes on an unusual meaning that is not usual heard in music today by stating:
This song has a different meaning for different folks – from truck drivers to pilots. They refer to refueling stops as ‘truck stops in the sky.
The most impressive song on the entire album, “Sandman”, truly shows the talent of band who knows how to write a song that could be easily considered a number one hit on the rock, country, and classic rock charts. More so, the band seems to drawl inspiration and project a sound that is eerily similar to such bands as Crosby, Stills, and Nash or 38 Special. Furthermore, Brent Flynn executes an over the top performance with a catchy guitar solo and riffs that drawl resemblance to Metallica or Lynyrd Skynyrd, but with a more updated sound. In essence, “Sandman”, is a song that every band wish they could have wrote, but lacked the talent and inspiration to develop such a monumental piece of work.
Initially, Flynnville Train is just not another band from Indiana, but one that has the talent and musical craftsmanship to turn the world of music upside down. “Redemption”, is an album that is jam packed with songs that will appeal to rock, country, and rockabilly enthusiasts alike. Furthermore, it is Flynnville Train’s ability to create music that brings all listeners together for fun, good times, and great music. Country rockers, Flynnville Train is at it again with a new single, and a new sound. With the release of "The One You Love," these guys deliver something that leaves you begging for more and it is impossible to not hit repeat over and over again. As soon as it starts, there is no denying that, although love songs may not be something they have recorded in the past, it is something they should continue to do. "The One You Love" brings to life the fact the there is someone out there for everyone, however sometimes they aren't the easiest to find. The fact that you are not with them can even drive you crazy. Flynnville Train sounds better than ever with this single and the release of their next record in 2013 seems so far away.

Nashville, TN (September 6, 2012) -- Indiana-based Southern Rockers FLYNNVILLE TRAIN recently made the rounds on Music Row, visiting with CMA, ASCAP, Music Row Magazine and All Access.com, as well as a special visit with Jo Walker-Meador and her husband Bob. "It was an absolute blast," says the band's beloved lead singer Brian Flynn. "It has been some years since we were last in Nashville visiting with people, and we made a lot of new friends. We will be back soon for another visit, which may include a live show."
The high-energy group also features co-founder and smokin' hot guitarist Brent Flynn, along with Tommy Bales on world-class drums and Joseph Shreve on rock-solid bass. The band performed acoustic (which included bass), for staffers at Music Row Magazine and played their current Country radio single, "The One You Love," as well as "Tequila Sheila" and "Home."
FLYNNVILLE TRAIN shared stories of their fun Toby Keith road days with Chief Executive Officer Steve Moore and also signed up for membership. Yesterday (8/22), Flynnville Train stopped by MusicRow headquarters. Band members include brothers Brian and Brent Flynn, Tommy Bales and Joseph Shreve. Usually equipped with amps and loud PA systems ready to rock out, the band gave an acoustic, stripped down performance of several songs, including their current single “The One You Love.”
“It’s sort of a different perspective on us,” Brian said of the sweet, mellow sounding tune, which they originally debuted while playing at a Montgomery Gentry concert. “Afterwards, a lot of people came up and said they wanted to use it as their wedding song, but we hadn’t even cut it yet.” But that’s since changed and the song went to radio Monday (8/20).
The group, all of whom grew up in central Indiana, also played “Tequila Sheila” and “Home.” ?After being together for thirteen years the band shared a little bit of their philosophy saying, ?“We just take the music where they want to hear it – we’re a live band.”
Their next record is slated for release early 2013.

ABOUT FLYNNVILLE TRAIN
The Indiana-based group was formed in 2001 by brothers Brian and Brent Flynn. The band spent several years playing clubs in the Midwest and caught the ear of Richard Young (KHH) who produced some tracks on them. Toby Keith heard FVT and signed them to his record label, Show Dog Nashville. They released a self-titled album for the label in the Fall of 2007, which generated two BILLBOARD Hot Country Chart hits--"Last Good Time" and "Nowhere Than Somewhere." An amicable parting followed a few years later. Brian Flynn sings lead vocals and Brent Flynn plays lead guitar and sings harmony. Flynnville Train is no stranger to the road or studio. They are good ole boys who have weathered fire and rain to make it to where they are today. With luck and a lot of prayers they are hitting the music scene with flying colors.
As I traveled through the tracks back and forth, I could hear the influences of artist that ranged from the Headhunters to Wet Willie with a little rock sprinkled in. I thought: what would you call this ‘format’ of influence? Then it hit me: just as the Allman Brothers and Lynyrd Skynyrd created their own genre, Flynnville Train has created one too. Southern Country is what I came up with. They are not your pretty boy country. They sing about the real world, real country and real family. Their faith is evident on several tracks, including track six. “Jesus Friend Of Sinners” is almost in the category of rock. The words are very hard core and in your face. The swirl of 70’s rock lingers in the melody. It makes you think about Judgment day.
As I was driving to Muscle Shoals, Alabama, on a music business trip, I thought I would pop in the CD for a listen. My husband, who really is a non country music fan said, “Oh no, can we leave it Sirius XM?” I said no and hit play. “Home” is the first cut and the first 5 bars is a beautiful melodic mandolin, my husband says “No way, no bluegrass!” ... Two seconds later the hard lead guitar and driving drums kick in with the first line, with words of “I cut my teeth on shotgun shells.” With the distinction of a jamming banjo in the background, it was ear candy. I wish I could have posted the look on his face on my Facebook page. It was priceless! Another awesome thing? The band pitched in as writers as they did all throughout the album.
As I hit number two, the lyrics to “Preaching To The Choir” hit me like a brick. It is a different twist to America’s news stories in song. Lines like “If you’d like a chance to wrap your hands around the neck of that SOB that hurt that kid on the evening news” and “If you know there ain’t no hero like a soldier, but you hate to ever have to send them over” that tell it like it is. Almost like an ode to Charlie when he sang the song “Simple Man.”
Also on cut number three the boys shine as writers for “On Our Way.” The guitar lead in this has a ring of Duane Eddy and the twang of southern rock. The song is a tale of a true family bond, a closeness where music is a dream that comes full circle.
“33 Steps” is a tribute to the places that surround the Ryman; historical places that are “33 Steps” to the Grand Ole Opry. It has a touch of melancholy, the broken dreams & musical aspirations that are just in or out of reach. Totally opposite is the next cut, “Alright.” This sounded like their neighbors, the Kentucky Headhunters, gave them a sprinkle of fairy music dust. They do the boys proud on this one. I could also almost hear the ‘hunters on “Tip A Can.” Loved the beach beat infused with the oscillating guitar.
The ballad song on this CD is called “The One You Love.” If someone had bet me that the Headhunters were present on this song, I would have said, “No.” Well I lost that one. The majority of the Headhunters are listed as the writers. Doug Phelps, Richard and Fred Young bring a certain taming to the unbridled musical tiger in these boys. Much like the fans they sing about in “Turn Left.” NASCAR fans are the best. You can’t be southern country and not love NASCAR!
Cut 11 and 12 are totally 180 degrees from each other, but they make it work... from the spectacular pumping guitars in “Scratch Me Where I‘m Itchin” (co-written by Jimmy Hall & Jeffrey Steele) to the remake of the band America’s 1971 hit “Sandman.” This song brings the band together in harmony that echoes the sound of Crosby, Stills & Nash. It is a translation of anger over 9/11 and what happened to our country. They are in full support of our troops. The tranquil and impeccable sound in the production is flawless. Which is a perfect ending to a rock and country album, by rock and country boys.

Great follow-up to their cracking 2007 debut album.
These southern-rocking outlaws released one of the stand-out albums of 2007 whilst on Toby Keith’s Show Dog label. Three years later and now on the independent label Next Evolution Records they have finally brought out their sophomore CD.
With Brian and Brent Flynn and Tommy Bales still ever-present and with Damon Michael coming in on bass guitar they are carrying on with the tried and tested formula of their debut, in other words songs that will rock your socks off, with just the odd ballad to balance things up.
Friend Of Sinners is a mighty good brooding rocker with blazing guitar behind some emotionally raw and gritty vocals and pounding drums, this should get your adrenaline pumping. The One You Love is a touching ballad that deserves to be heard on American radio with great vocals and gorgeous lyrics.
Tip A Can is a real catchy number that will make a great live tune as well as a popular one with the dancers, then you of course have the rockers such as the lively opener Home.
Surprise track is the cover of America’s Sandman which is tremendous. Rocking guitars, hammering drums and powerful vocals go to make this the standout track on this super album. DK

With their first album, Flynnville Train offered a rowdy, gritty kind of country-rock that seemed like a throwback to the early 1990s. Back then, acts like Confederate Railroad, Gibson/Miller Band, Pirates of the Mississippi and The Kentucky Headhunters (who contributed some content to Flynnville Train's debut) were unassumingly sneaking their ways onto radio playlists with rowdy, often tongue-in-cheek tunes that owed as much to Southern rock and outlaw country as they did the early-90s mainstream sound. Three years after Flynnville Train inexplicably failed to take off at radio ("Nowhere Than Somewhere" should've been a hit), the band is back on Next Evolution with the album Redemption.
All four members of the band co-wrote the lead-off cut "Home", a foot-stompin' number about "all the simple things in life / I've taken for granted" that, unsurprisingly, to the old home. It may be very familiar turf, but at the same time, it's far from the annoyingly cliché mess it could've been. "Preachin' to the Choir" turns all of the "the little man is suffering" tropes on its head by saying that those who grouse about high gas prices, war, abuse and so forth are preaching to the choir — indeed, "there's a whole lot of stuff messed up / Can I get an amen" pretty much sums up how I feel about all the other complaints. Keeping in the religious theme, "Friend of Sinners" is a confessional song about all the Biblical laws that the singer's broken; with a simple request of " I'm asking for forgiveness / 'Cause I've been wrong / Am I too far gone? / Jesus, friend of sinners / Won't you lead me home?", the song cuts right to the bone lyrically, and builds up sonically to underscore its simple plea.
"On Our Way" could easily be a lost track from a mellower end of a Confederate Railroad album, with its lyrical tales of that same musical dream so many acts have: first the bedrooms, then the dirty old bars, both played in hopes that "it'll all pay off." It's a pleasant assertation along the lines of Alan Jackson's "Chasin' That Neon Rainbow," which is high praise in my book. It's followed by the acoustic "33 Steps," which keeps along that theme by recalling the memories of Tootsie's Orchid Lounge.
If you need more cowbell, check out "Alright," a rowdy honky-tonk number that doesn't really have too much to say besides typical honky-tonk tropes, but it doesn't really need to. The split lead vocal here also adds a little more color to a rock-solid (and I do mean rock solid) cut. "Tip a Can" is also a rocked-up honky tonk raver that's a pleasant and fun ode to having a beer (or several) with your friends. At times, it brings to mind the rowdiness of The Kentucky Headhunters' early work, such as "Dumas Walker." Speaking of the Headhunters, Doug Phelps and Fred Young wrote "The One You Love." This song piles on the clichés rather thickly ("For everyone there's someone / For me there's only you / And every day without you / Is one more day you lose") but at least arranges them tightly and musically to make the song a pleasant listen.
"Turn Left" caught my eye when I first saw the album, because I had no idea what the title would be about. Much to my surprise, it's a very listenable ode to racing that pits gritty guitar against sweet fiddle. The album's next cut is "Scratch Me Where I'm Itchin'," a Jeffrey Steele cowrite that has his style all over it. Here, the lyrics are maybe just a tiny bit misogynistic in their request for a woman to leave so she can be replaced with a more suitable type, but it's more playful than anything else. A cover of America's "Sandman" keeps the layered harmonies of the original while cranking up the guitars a bit louder and adding an electric sitar in a few spots. This song was a fine choice of a cover, and its length makes it a very apt closer.
Redemption is an extremely tight, cohesive album. Although it has its rough edges, they're of the kind that enhance the sound rather than detract from it. Along the way, you'll find songs about redemption, good times, home, family, God and beer — all topics that are warmly familiar, but delivered with inspiration and energy. The album probably resonates best with people who like a more rock sound to their country, but even if your tastes run a little mellower than mine, you should easily find something good here.

Are you ready for a new band that picks up where Lynyrd Skynyrd left off? One look at the long-haired dudes in Flynnville Train and you might think that’s what you’re getting. These guys are nowhere near as rowdy as Skynrd was but that are one of the best bands building on the might southern rock/country rock mantle. Fans of country will hear familiar sounds right off the bat as Redemption opens with a “Save A Horse (Ride A Cowboy”) vibe with “Home” before moving into a Marshall Tucker Band/Montgomery Gentry mash-up for “Preachin’ To The Choir.” “Alright” sounds a lot like “Keep Your Hands To Yourself,” the one hit from Georgia Satellites – no wonder since head sputnik Dan Baird wrote the song and guest on the cut too. The beer-drinking anthem “Tip A Can” is probably the best overall song on Redemption; all four band members had a hand in writing the frothy Dwight Yoakam – style sing-a-long.

Flynnville Train’s latest album, Redemption, is a one hundred percent sweet sounding, southern rocking album that has everything a country/rock fan could ask for. There is not a song on the album that will not appeal to the taste of many listeners and with songs that convey a message, the listeners will have no problem with being able to relate with the lyrics. A mix between Crosby, Stills and Nash, and Lynyrd Skynyrd this band brought back a signature sound of the south that listeners have been missing. With a sound like theirs and an album with production value that is of superb quality, Flynnville Train has the ability to remind listeners that this genre is not just for the classic rock radio stations and is still alive and kicking in today’s cookie cutter music world.

These set of tracks all have potential to be standout in my book, but to choose the ones that have that fit the standard they would be, “Scratch Me Where I’m Itchin’”, “On Our Way” and the ballad “ The One You Love”. “Scratch Me Where I’m Itchin” has that witty lyric, tongue in cheek attitude with a true country-rocking groove. This track will forcibly make the feet tap in tempo. The song is about making love to that special woman who can scratch that certain “itch”. It is a great swinging tune, with a solid performance on all levels. “On Our Way” is a story song of the road to stardom, the reminiscing of “where we came from” and “here we are now”. Well done writing on that track from start to finish, it will be stuck in heads from after the first listen. “The One You Love” stands out because of it being the love ballad on the album. It is a song of the unknown feelings that the other person has for you and the want and need to know those certain feelings.

Former sidekicks of Toby Keith find that the passion of real fans is a great thing as some hard core fans started a label so these blue collar country rockers can continue their recorded ways. A nice throwback to classic outlaw music, this amped up version of country is the music of the unpaved streets and it rings loud, clear, true and proud. Without any compromise, this bunch shows they have what it takes and know how to deliver it. Wild stuff for fans of classic Hank Jr, Waylon and Jones as well as Tucker and Skynyrd. Hot stuff.

Flynnville Train's 'Tip A Can' Featured On New Album

The casual atmosphere of the Space Coast area had such an effect on one country music singer that he decided to write a song about it.
"Tip a Can" is a featured track on Flynnville Train's newest album, Redemption, scheduled to be released in late July. The song highlights the local area, referencing locations such as Sebastian Inlet and Lou's Blues Upstairs in Indialantic.
"My wife's grandmother had a place down in Sebastian Beach, so we've taken a lot of vacations around the Brevard area," said Brian Flynn, the group's lead singer. "We always have so much fun down there, and the people are so nice. It's such a great area."
Formed in 2001, Flynnville Train is a four-member country rock band from Central Indiana.
The group was originally signed by country singer Toby Keith's label, Show Dog Nashville, in June 2006, but parted ways three years later.
Flynnville Train is now managed by Hallmark Direction Company and is preparing to release its second album, which Mr. Flynn said, is historically the toughest to put out.
"Everyone says there's no way you can write an album as good as your first," he said. "I'm my worst critic, and I can say for sure that this album is better than our first. We've put out songs about family and friends and a lot of the things you take for granted in your life when you're younger."
The band's first single, "Preachin' to the Choir," has already begun to climb the country music charts.
While this track has a more inspirational, soulful sound, the guys describe "Tip A Can" as a good-time, party song that depicts real people in a relaxing beach town.
Throughout the years, the band has become good friends with Louie Andrus, owner of Lou's Blues, and has played at the popular venue several times in the past.
"It was a funny story actually; we were performing at Lou's and one of the cooks, who everyone calls 'Cowboy Mike,' requested that he sing along with us to a Travis Tritt song," Mr. Flynn said. "When we finally did, Mikey forgot the words half-way through and just walked off stage. It was pretty funny, so we added it to the song."
"Tip A Can's" opening lyrics read: "Soakin' my feet on the hot Sebastian sunshine sand, watchin' the girls struttin' by in their Coppertone tans."
Followed by,"Singin' karaoke at Lou's Blues bar tonight, Mikey the chef's been singing Travis Tritt; tonight I bet he gets it right. And old Lou's down at the swingin' doors, with a smile, he says hello friends. You just need to run down if you can, let's tip a can."
In addition to Mr. Flynn, the band consists of his brother, Brent Flynn - lead guitarist, strings player and vocalist - as well as Tommy Bales on drums, and Joseph Shreve on bass.
When it comes to song-writing, Mr. Flynn said he typically comes up with "some crazy idea" for a song, then the guys all get in a circle and write the song together.
As for "Tip A Can," he said the lyrics came quite easily, describing a town all the band members enjoy.
An avid fisherman, Mr. Flynn said he spends the majority of his vacation time in Brevard fishing with pal, Rick Dollard, co-owner of Moo's Soft Serve in Indialantic.
"I've caught some of the biggest fish I've ever caught down there," Mr. Flynn said. "I'd live over there if I could, and one day, probably will."
While the "Flynn" part of the band's name was named after band brothers Brian and Brent, the "ville" part came from all of the little towns that end in "ville" close to where the boys grew up.
The "train" was added to mark the memory of when the band used to hold front-porch rehearsals at its house in their town of 2,000 residents in Indiana.
"Our neighbors actually named us," Mr. Flynn said. "They could hear us from miles away. They said it sounded like a freight train comin' through town."
Mr. Andrus said he couldn't be more thrilled to have he and his bar mentioned in one of the band's songs.
"Over the years, we've had a lot of different artists play here, and they are one of the nicest and most talented group of guys," he said. "We really hope this song and the rest of their album take off. They know they're welcome to play here anytime."
